On the Farm

The Clover Downs Estate property and picturesque rural pasture surroundings will make your stay unique and memorable. The farm, a 6.5 acre accredited deer and ostrich lifestyle block, provides an incomparable opportunity to get close to the livestock and interact with the animals.

Lyn and Lloyd provide a complimentary farm tour, sharing their farming experience, and giving you a fascinating insight into farm life. The friendly farm dogs, Savy and Pinot round up a flock of Suffolk sheep while Lloyd gives them instructions by whistling. Chloe, the miniature fox terrier, watches from her seat on the back of the four-wheeler.

You can hand feed a giant ostrich, then feed and pat an inquisitive Wapiti X Hind deer named Prancer. Get up close to Alabama, the majestic Wapiti Elk stag.

From the farm, Lyn and Lloyd can organise other memorable adventures, including sightseeing helicopter rides from the farm and guided fishing expeditions (river and lake fishing – including fly-fishing). You can even have your own tour guide for sightseeing, or be picked up from Clover Downs to enjoy a traditional Maori hangi concert and feast.
