Only 40 minutes or an hour from Clover Downs Estate, Tauranga and Mount Maunganui are stunning places to visit.
Tauranga is a beautiful small city built around the harbour, with lots of great shops and restaurants – a place where the pace of life slows down and life revolves around getting outside and enjoying the sun.
Across the harbour bridge is Mount Maunganui, affectionately known as ‘The Mount’, one of New Zealand’s foremost surf beaches. Pristine white sands stretch for miles, with one end of the beach dominated by the mountain itself – an extinct volcanic cone named Mauao. Walk to the top of Mauao for incomparable views to Tauranga, along the beach and out into the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy water sports in the surf or in the shelter water of Pilot Bay. Stroll along beach or boardwalk. Then treat yourself to coffee and a meal and one of Mount Maunganui’s great cafés and restaurants.
